It was our largest ever - with 37 explorers. Once again, we had a fantastic camp; the only problem being the weather! The activities on offer included outdoor rock climbing, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, shopping, hiking, a beach visit, archery, rifle shooting, tunneling, raft building, and a trip to Sandcastle water park. In other news, we'd like to introduce the new East section of the unit, run by Helen Hill and starting up . More information about East will be available on the website soon. Survival Camp (25/07/2011) Last weekend (23rd - 24th July), 24 explorers and 2 Network members took part in a survival camp in Worcester, run by Penny and Gary from the AdventureFitness Company. Participants were allowed only basic equipment - drink bottle, penknife and waterproof; plus a single tarpaulin and rope per team - for the weekend, and built their own shelters. For food, they were given whole dead animals and taught how to prepare and cook them using an open fire. Cotswold Marathon 2011 (14/02/2011) This year, Worcester Explorer Unit entered several teams into the Cotswold Marathon, an overnight hike of up to 36 miles.
